VITEK Crown Molding RoomFit Tool

This powerful online design tool can help you plan the layout of crown molding in a room. It minimizes the number of pieces of crown molding you need to purchase.

After fitting your room, you will be able to add the VITEK crown molding products required for it directly to your shopping cart.

1. You have now selected the molding you want to install in this room: the T200-PL Vice Regal Crown Molding - an excellent choice. At $4.67 per foot*, it is also an excellent bargain.

*- VITEK crown moldings are supplied in 8 foot (+/- 1 inch) lengths.

2. Next, select an Installation Type (by clicking the round button beneath its name.) Two types of installation are supported by this tool: Miterless and Mitered.

Miterless				A Miterless Installation uses VITEK Internal, External, and Divider Blocks wherever possible. This is VITEK's recommended installation method. It does not require that you cut compound miters or try to match patterns at 90 degree corners or at butt joints. The use of Designer Blocks eliminates all concern about take up. Blocks are installed first. Molding lengths are then cut slightly long and sprung into place. In a miterless installation, you can use super-latex caulk on the wall and ceiling bedding surfaces of all crown molding lengths (which cleans up easily with water.)
Mitered				A Mitered Installation requires twice the time of a miterless installation. It does not use any VITEK Designer Blocks. This type of installation is performed by experienced, finish carpenters who have worked with crown moldings before. It requires that PL Premium® Construction Adhesive be applied to the wall and ceiling where all crown molding bedding surfaces will lie. PL Premium® cannot be removed once set. A mitered installation requires that internal 90 degree corners be coped and that external 90 degree corners be compound mitered.

For a miterless installation, this tool provides details about how each length of crown molding you will need to purchase should be cut and where in your room each portion of it should be placed. You will need to have a printer connected to your computer to print this plan. (The plan accounts for the extra length recommended for each section of crown molding to permit you to spring pieces into place.)
