Installing a Balmer VI Ceiling Center or Ceiling Dome
To mount a ceiling center or surface mounted dome, apply a 1/4" (6 mm) bead of S101-PL acrylic siliconized latex caulk to the perimeter of the back surface of the product. Press it into place and fasten it with three trim head screws. The screws should be placed such that their recessed heads can be easily filled and blended. Often, the best place to locate screws is into ornamentation as opposed to a plain area. This way, the filled holes are less likely to be noticeable.

Use S101-PL premium paintable super latex caulk as an adhesive.

Use trim head screws. Pre-drilling is not necessary.

Use a wet cloth to remove excess caulk and blend the edge seam.

Use S102 paintable, non-shrinking latex filler to fill the screw holes.

Sand the filler using fine sandpaper if necessary.

Finish with any latex or oil-based paint.

Fixture Mounting Options
Option (1) is the preferred approach. It works for almost all installations with the greatest majority of fixtures. The machine screws required are size #8-32 for use with a standard North American 4 inch octagonal electrical lighting box. The length of screw required depends on the ceiling center you are installing. A 2-1/2 inch screw is usually sufficient.
